An Airplane?!?

  • CHARTSThere is a whole cycle of charts that change on February 15th, including the Washington chart.

  • AIRPLANE OF THE MONTH

    1980 - CESSNA 182RG
The Cessna 182RG is a wonderful airplane and there
are few out there for sale that are as clean as this
one.  We rarely get such a bird.

Check out our website as airplanes come and go - frequently not even making it onto the web. Speak
with Ken or Dick and tell them what your thoughts
are with airplane ownership. They should certainly
be able to guide you to a wise decision.

    AVIONICS
In case you were unaware, we have an expert avionics person on staff - Jeff Vamos, who meticulously install some of the latest and greatest. We are Garmin dealers and have a wonderful line of products to make your flight easier, safer and much more enjoyable.
    See Ken.

BRRRRRRRR!

We had the benefits of mild weather when suddenly someone reminded 'Ole Man Winter that it's January and 70 degree weather is inconsistant. So he cranked up the winds and lowered the temperature and flying came to a standstill.

It is also very obvious that the days are starting to get a bit longer. On March 11th we will all turn our clocks forward as Daylight Savings Time begins two weeks earlier than before. Soon the roar of the engines will return and we will all enjoy the skies.

  • THE SHERIFF OF PRINCETON WOODS - 39N
  • Sheriff

For years we have been concerned about the deer population at Princeton Airport and other airports, as we takeoff and land. Well, finally the Division of Wildlife has given our airport the protection it needs - a permit to eliminate the deer. We have appointed Andrew Pramer to be our Sheriff/Game Warden - his mission is to keep us safe and rid us of deer and coyotes.

  • Falcon 50

While you are busy toiling away at work, frequently we are visited by some "cool" aircraft. Instead of only hearing about it, we hope to share a picture each month. Here is a Falcon 50 which graced our runway last month.

  • MEET CFII LARRY WEST
  • Larry West

Larry West joined our part time staff in 2003 after obtaining all of his ratings with Raritan Valley Flying School. At the time he was an Assistant Prosecutor for Middlesex County. He still practices law, however by having an office upstairs, he has easy access to both of his interests.

Larry's wife, Jeanette Voight, is a certified court reporter, and she took the pinch-hitter's course with 39N. Together they have been most supportive of the airport and its activities. Larry served as president of the Flying Tigers twice and Jeanetter has been the secretary for several terms.

Larry and his airplane partner, John Horan, own a Beech Bonanza and they enjoy the PAFT trips as well as the annual flight to Sun 'n Fun. We consider Larry a well rounded pilot - airplane owner - hangar & office renter, and good friend. Since Larry is quite tall, he instructs only in the Cessna 172 or its equivalent. So if you need to get your license, get a BFR, or earn you Wings, sign up with Larry.

  • EVENING GROUND SCHOOL ANYONE?
  • Private and/or Instrument
We sent out a call last month to those wanting an evening ground school, however we need 12 students for each class to begin. If you find it difficult to study on your own, this is the perfect way to get that FAA Knowledge Test out of the way. Call 609-921-3100 to sign up.

  • EMILY PRAMER SOLOS AT SIXTEEN
  • Emily Pramer & CFII Knut Markus Flanked by Mom & Dad

January 12th was a day that Emily Pramer had been working toward for a long time - her 16th birthday and hopefully, her first solo flight - the FAA minimum age. All of the plans came together as the weather and her talents were just right. Having missed school, she ventured to the airport early to avoid any potential for winds. After practicing with her instructor, Knut Marcus, it was a go.

As her mother Summer and very anxious father Andy, watched, Emily took off. She successfully made three circuits and calmly returned to earth. Emily's name will be added to our plaque for those who soloed on their 16th birthdays. Above from left to right are Emily's father, who is also a pilot who is building a Skybolt; CFII Knut Marcus; Emily and her mother.

  • NEWS from PRINCETON AIRPORT FLYING TIGERS
  • THE New Year entered with a bang for the Flying Tigers. Our January meeting was attended by 35 Tigers and guests, who heard a first hand account of the excitig around-the-world trip from guest speakers, Dr. Ed Galkin and Captain Dick Soliner.

Our next event was the January Fly-In to Lancaster, PA, hosted by Steve Anasiewicz. It was a cold, but clear day for the 10 TIgers in 5 planes. All enjoyed the flight, the food, and as always, the great conversation.

So don't missout on our February activities, which include a tour of the Trenton Tower on February 5th, hosted by Jim Pate, Tower Manager. Then on February 18th we will fly to Reading, PA, where we will visit the aviation museum after lunch, planned by Glenn MacEwen.
Don't miss out on these events - Join the Princeton Airport Flying Tigers today!
