WE APOLOGIZE!

March 16th through the 18th turned out to be the "perfect storm", when all the components came together to create shear chaos at 39N.

It started when Ken, Naomi and the kids went to Disneyworld for three days.  By Friday the weather up here deteriorated so fast that all equipment was put into action.  But... First the pickup truck with the plow lost its four wheel drive, so the staff turned to the front-end loader with a 12' plow.  That blew a hydraulic fitting.  Mike Stachowicz brought in his pickup truck with a plow, and it dropped its drive shaft.  We were left with the huge snow blower, but that can't take care of ice.  Frequent calls to Florida couldn't put things back together.

Oh, the Florida trip was great, aside from the extra nine hours wait to come home.  And yes, it is
Spring!

Support the International Air Rally
At 39N in July

The flying community of Princeton Airport has a unique opportunity to show our hospitality and support to the flying community of Canada and other countries.  We have been chosen to be one of the stops for the IAR for approximately 25-30 airplanes and their occupants and the press.

This will take a lot of effort on the part of us, here at Princeton.  We need your help to volunteer for many of the assignments, big and small, including transportation, our Annual Picnic, and the mass flight up the Hudson.

Every pilot can tell you a story of someone special that he/she met at a small airport - let's send our guests on their way with fond memories of 39N.

Lear 31
Yes, a Lear 31 visited us during March.
This pretty bird  easily made it into 39N with room to spare.

Good Luck, Chris

All of you know our senior Flight Coordinator, Chris Stark, who has been with us for well over four years.  Well, he will be leaving us to become an electrician.  His quick humorous quips and devotion to 39N will be sorely missed.  But on the brighter side, he will work on Sundays.  So if you need cheering up, visit with Chris on a Sunday.  We all wish him good luck and many thanks.

We need to hire at least one or two, part-time or full time, so if you are interested, speak to Laura or Naomi.

News from the
Princeton Airport Flying Tigers

The Flying Tigers had a great March meeting where we solidified our plans to host the International Air Rall on July 3-5, 2007 at 39N.  So members mark you calendars to attend our Annual 4th of July picnic to celebrate our independence with fellow pilots from around the world.  Don't miss it!!!

Our March Fly-In had to be postponed a week to accommodate winter's death knoll but the 13 members in 6 planes had a great time in Ocean City, NJ.  A good time was had by all.

Now that winter is over, let's look with anticipation for the great flying weather ahead of us and plan to be at our fly-in on April 15th to Bradley Int'l, Winsor Locks, CT for a great brunch.  We will bid farewell to our fellow members who will be flying to Sun N Fun that week.

Forty Years in the Business of General Aviation
Dick Nierenberg Followed His Dream

As a result of a series of events in his life, Dick announced to his wife, Naomi, that he was leaving the family furniture business to run an FBO.  This came as a surprise, but together the transition came to be.  He took over Raritan Valley Air at then Kupper Airport and he never looked back.  There were many difficult years learning what worked and what didn't.  Long hours became a way of life and if Naomi and the boys wanted to see "Daddy", they went to the airport, which really wasn't a problem as there were all sorts of things to play with.

While the kids were in schools, Naomi did the office  work, as who could afford another employee.  In reflection it was nip and tuck for quite a while until he found out what worked and what didn't work.

We are all glad that it did, as eventually Naomi took over the school in '78 and Ken, who always loved to go to the airport, joined on as a young adult.  All of those hard times enabled the big move to Princeton in 1985.  If you want to hear some great stories of aviation, visit with Dick in the rear office.

On Saturday, April 28th about 1:00 we will have cake to celebrate this rich past and future.  Come reminisce and laugh about some of the events of yesterday.
Planning An Event?

Some of you might have noticed catering vans or trucks from rental outfits here lately - Princeton Airport has space to accommodate 50 to 500 people, and the Princeton region, that is something important.

An area PTA held a big fund raiser; the Princeton Historical Society hold a three day event; CASA will be hosting a "Roaring 20s, while SAVE will host a "Cinco de Maya" party.

So if you or your company is looking for space with parking, check us out.
