Although each one of you is special and have put an enormous amount of time and effort into your certificates, we have two students who have unique flight training histories.
Sam Bianca began his instrument training with us at Kupper Airport in 1981. Sam successfully passed the IRA knowledge test ten times, each with very high scores. For one reason or another Sam could never put the time, money, weather, instructor and airplane together to complete the requirements, be he never gave up and never, never complained. He hung in there. So to Sam Bianca, enjoy your new rating.
When Mike Jardin was four, he came to the Princeton Airport with his pre-school for a tour. That had to be shortly after we moved here in '85. When we placed our website online, he was the first person to contact us regarding flight training. In March of '97 he bought the books. He didn't start flying until that summer, demonstrating to his parents he was serious.
He soon became a lineman when he wasn't in school or practicing with the swim team. When he showed up for work with a wet head from swimming, he earned the nickname, "Fishboy". In between high school activities, he earned his private, instrument and commercial tickets. It was off to Cornell last year, always flying during break. During his winter break Mike successfully completed his flight instructor course. We thought he might quit Cornell to work here full time, however we thought better of even trying. Well done, Mike!
When Will It Be Done?
If we had a dollar for each time that infamous question was asked, "When will the runway be done?", we would have enough revenue to finish it ourselves. Although there have been numerous bumps along the way, we are optimistic that the contractor should return as soon as the weather permits. Then the runway should be ready by early summer and the taxiways should follow by early fall. Let's hope for an early thaw, for numerous reasons. Enough snow!
Welcome to our Staff:
Joining our fine staff of flight instructors is CFII Juan Riascos, who is available on a full time basis. He is helping to ease the scheduling problem.
Adding a friendly voice behind the counter is Flight Coordinator, Sean O'Halloran. Welcome aboard.
Congratulations, Mike Jardin, who earned 100% on the Instrument Instructor's knowledge test.
Did your instructor leave? Did you never get assigned to an instructor? Well, we finally seem to be able to serve you better with the addition of one more instructor, and two more who will complete next month with the cooperation of the weather and the FAA. Call Naomi or Chuck to work out a schedule for you.
Help Wanted: Full or part-time line person. Speak to Dick. Perhaps this can help pay for your flight training.
Attention Airplane Owners: If you need to be plowed out, please give us at least 24 hours, preferably 48 hours. Otherwise we will not plow you out in favor of keeping the airport mobile.
