As of the writing of this newsletter, two check rides are in progress. march came in as a lion and is leaving as a gorilla. Weekends have been wet, cloudy, or worse, so your progress has come to a halt. We know it won't be cold in August - hang in there.
Congratulations, Brian & Ann Zecher on your recent marriage. Good Luck.
Attention Airplane Owners: Please make sure you check your fuel tanks before we dispatch the lineman to "top you off". Too frequently the airplane is taking less than 5 gallons. We will now have a minimum of five gallons to send out the lineman.
Our sympathy to Joe McMahon and his family on the recent death of his mother.
Easter Sunday Hours:
VFR - Open all day. Normal operations.
IFR - Close at 1:00 p.m. Call ahead for fuel requests.
Attention Commercial Pilots:
Periodically we have the need for commercial pilots to fly aerial photographers for long periods of time, primarily during the week. If you are interested, please speak with Chuck or Naomi.
Happy 34th Anniversary to Us!
Setting: The Nierenberg living room.
Time: Late evening, April 28, 1967.
Dick said, "Naomi, I think I am going to run an airport."
Naomi asked, "And what about the furniture store?"
Dick responded, "Not my problem!"
Not quite, but darn close. Dick took over the FBO at the then Kupper Airport and the rest is history.

Welcome to Our Staff
Flight Instructor, Carl Lue-Chung, had the mistaken idea that he would train for the CFI course in the fall and be a staff member by December. Being ready to take the test with the FAA and doing so have become the challenge this season. After numerous cancellations, Carl passed with glowing reports. (Getting an appointment with the FAA is far more difficult than with an examiner). Carl is a full time employee with Wednesdays off.
And welcome A&P Eric Balke, who is very busy in the maintenance shop keeping yours and our planes flying.
And welcome Danielle Enriquez who you will hear busy answering the phones helping you with the schedule.
Jelly Bean Contest!!!
There is a jar of jelly beans on the front counter. Guess the number of GREEN Jelly Beans. The one who's entry is the closest wins a $50 gift certificate from the pilot shoppe. Contest ends on Easter Sunday.
Safety Corner
You would think that the birds would have sufficient natural habitats to build their nests. Wrong! Since the balmy weather of spring has been delayed, the birds are arriving and very anxious to start their nests. Preflight carefully! Make sure to put those cowl plugs in at this time of year.
April Calendar of Events
01: Daylight Savings Time Starts (No April Fool)
07: 1st Night of Passover
13: Good Friday
15: Easter Sunday
18: GPS & Beyond
22: PAFT Fly In - Gettysburg, PA
Since it has been such a difficult weather season, let's hope that the normal April showers will yield to some warm, sunny days with no wind - particularly on the weekends. CFI Carl waited about 2 months, Tom & Greg rescheduled 5 times & holding.
