New Jersey Pilot s
Call to Action!

Since September 11th, there has been all sorts of knee-jerk reactions in various governing bodies.  Of interest to pilots of New Jersey is Assembly Bill 1649 & Senate Bill 43, which would require a criminal background checks for individuals seeking aviation flight training.  It would require flight schools to conduct criminal history records checks on all flight students.
Airmen requirements should remain in the federal domain--individual states making its own rules would create chaos.
This legislation would not have prevented the events of September 11th.  We think the INS must do better  checks prior to issuing visas.  Punishing US citizens is not the answer and it would be very costly and ineffective.
Please write, call, or e-mail your representatives.  If you need help finding yours, call us or check the web for their names.

Have a Safe & Happy 4th!

Clarification of NEW WRITTEN TESTS
When the FAA changes the knowledge tests, they announce an implementation date.  It then takes the private companies i.e ASA, Gleim, Jeppesen, etc., a while to check out the changes and publish new test books--bottom line, new tests are implemented, however the number of changes is negligible.

Congratulations, Larry Evans for achieving 100% on your FAA private knowledge exam.  Well done.

Are You Heading for Oshkosh?  It will begin on July 23th through 29th.  This event, sponsored by Experimental Aircraft Association,  brings 100s of thousands of aviation enthusiasts.  There are air shows, displays of aircraft from the earliest to the newest, seminars, and vendors.  If you need charts, either FAA or Jeppesen, we have ordered extra for the journey.  It's a great adventure.

Welcome to 39N, Webster Crew and your Cherokee 180.

We wish three flight instructors well as they pursue different avenues of aviation-good luck Chuck Taylor, Carl Lue Chung and Chris Garber.
Quick to join in to assist you are Ather Mahmood, Justin Sinclair, and Brandon Mulcahey, CFIIs, who already have made
significant contributions.  We intend to add two more instructors to take advantage of the long days and good weather.  If we have missed you in our transition, please call us.  This is when our syllabus become invaluable.
