Congratulations Rami Shakarchi for achieving 100% on the Private Pilot's Knowledge Test. Well done.
Congratulations New Airplane Owners... Jay & Marilyn Mironov and your Piper Turbo Arrow, and Bryan Boyle and your Piper 140. Happy Flying!
Welcome to 39N, Hamilton Potter & your Aerostar. Princeton's becoming an Aerostar haven.
Just when you think everything is under control, there is always something new that arises. We informed you about Chris Wilson leaving last month. Chuck Taylor & Jeff Wilman too over his reins. Then Continental Express made an offer to Jeff which he couldn't refuse. So Jeff - thanks for a fine job and our very best wishes.
And to Chuck Taylor, we know you will do a fine job as Chief Pilor. Chuck has worked his way up from flight coordinator, CFII and now Chief. He's a valued staff member. Lots of Luck!
And More Congratulations to Trond Halvorsen, who is now and Assistant Chief Pilot for the Private Pilot Course. Trond has become a wonderful team member.
Welcome to Our Staff - CFII, MEI, Chris Garber, has joined us to accommodate the many new faces who have joined our school, and some whom we haven't seen in a while.
And to Chris Stern, welcome as our new flight coordinator. He holds several FAA ratings. Good luck Ryan Boyd in your new endeavors.
Congratulations to the Bravman family on the arrival of baby Julia Leigh.
FYI:
We are still waiting for fuel prices to go down - hopefully soon...........
We're in the News...
The August edition of New Jersey Monthly had an enlightening article regarding the fear of flying. Nancy Dalin contacted us about her fear and then she took action at 39N. After working for a brief session with Jeff Wilman, she followed up with an informative article about working on one's fear. Happy flying, Nancy.
Needless to say, we have had numerous calls of people trying to overcome their anxieties. Between this and the recent Pinchhitters' Class, we have developed a new niche, quite unexpectedly.
On a different topic, watch for an article in US 1 about learning to fly and taking an Introductory Flying Lesson. The reporter enjoyed being an "airport bum" for the day, asking all sorts of questions of staff and customers.
The Food Editor of the Princeton Packet contacted us regarding pilots' who fly different places for the proverbial "$100 Hamburger". She was fascinated with the idea and there will probably be an article on how and where pilots fly for lunch.
Founder's Corner:
In good times people are always around to help and have fun. It is when there arises a problem that you know your true friends. Late Saturday afternoon one of our planes had an accident and I was called back to the airport.
By the time I arrived many staff, customers and pilots were on the scene, assuring everyone's safety on the ground and in the air.
It's unfortunate. Even once for this to happen is too often. But at least the injuries are not too severe.
The Division of Aeronautics arrived quickly, however the FAA did not arrive until 9:00 after which we were able to remove the plane.
Many of you stayed with me until the end - about 10:30 p.m., and I thank you. This is what makes 39N such a special place.

News from the Princeton Airport's Flying Tigers
For a change the July Fly-In took place on the designated day and off four planes flew with 12 people to tour and eat on Block Island. Beautiful day, great flying and a terrific place to visit. What more can you ask for?
The picnic was a great success. The weather held out and the food was terrific. We should always expect that as pilots have discerning taste in food. Over 60 of you attended, ate, met fellow aviators and friends and just had a great afternoon. Thanks to the many who worked so hard to assure its success.
August 20th Fly-In:
Destination: Penns Cave
A great tourist attraction - caves and boats to view them. Lots of fun. Join in. Check the bulletin board next to the restrooms for signup information.
When you attend this class, you can earn your Pilot Proficiency Wings by receiving 3 hours of instruction.
Have you earned your Wings in 2000?
Please call to reserve a seat. Cost: $5 / person.
