OPERATIONAL DIFFICULTIES UNDER PRESENT CIRCUMSTANCES

The aftermath of the terrorists’ attacks have had a ripple effect on the general aviation industry.  Slowly the air transportation system has been returning to conditions prior to September 11th, however there are still many Temporary Flight Regulations (TFRs) which preclude normalcy, if that ever returns.

Princeton Airport has been scrutinized by law enforcement from all levels, as have other flight schools in New Jersey.

The latest problems effecting the postal service of this region has made communications ever so difficult.  This newsletter will be dropped off at the post office on time, however whether you get it on time, or get it at all

remains to be seen.  If you haven’t received recent statements, please contact us and we will find an alternate means to get the information to you.  If you mailed your payment and it has not been credited to your account, it very well may be locked up in the local post office.

If there is ever a time when we really should have constant communications with you regarding what’s happening at 39N, it is now.  However none of us had a choice of the events of the last two months.

We will try to keep the website updated so you will be apprised of changes in activities here at Princeton Airport.

                Thanks for your cooperation.

Congratulations, Andrew Pramer who is the proud owner of a Piper Cherokee.  But it doesn’t do loops & rolls that Andy’s so fond of.!

Our Staff:  About the only benefit that occurred to the general aviation industry is the availability of flight instructors who were so scarce prior to Sept. 11th.  We want to welcome Harry Snook who is on temporary leave with Continental Express.  And a hearty welcome to CFI Matthew Stewart.  Together they have already contributed to easing the scheduling demand.

Since Eastern Standard Time has returned, the demand for instruction on the weekends will be high, so schedule in advance.

If you have been unable to schedule during the summer because you could not get with an instructor, call us and we will get you moving again.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

Our Annual Santa Fly-In

One of the highlights of Princeton Airport is the Annual Santa Fly-In which take place on December 24th.  This event is open to the community and is wonderful.

To participate you bring a wrapped gift with your child’s name in large print on the outside.  If you have more than one child, wrap them in the same paper and tie them together so Santa can give the gifts out together.  Maximum size—12”, please.

You also must bring an unwrapped gift for the needy which will be most appreciated by local Social Services.  Gifts may be collected after Thanksgiving and they are distributed by Santa in the order in which we receive them.

On Christmas Eve Day everyone will gather in the hangar where the Pilot’s Club will distribute cocoa & cookies while a local folk singer will entertain the kids.  Santa (Ken Nierenberg) will fly in and circle the airport while the children will watch outside.

Then he lands, goes into the hangar for distribution.  Great photo opportunity.

Time:  11:00 AM

Insurance Note:  Our insurance is in the same insurance pool as the airlines involved with Sept. 11th.  Rates are going up substantially.
